Joshua Corben O.D.

Dr. Joshua Corben joined Corben Optometry in 2002 after obtaining his Doctor of Optometry from Inter-American University. Prior to those events, he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Arizona State University. In the Practice setting, Dr. Josh’s primary focus is Contact Lens specialty fitting, however he also treats patients of all ages with many different vision needs and is Glaucoma Certified. He has won several awards in Optometry including the prestigious “Young Optometrist of the year Award” in 2008 for the state of California, by the California Optometric Association. This past year, he was appointed a Key Opinion Leader for a major contact lens company. He has been a guest lecturer at the College of The Canyons School of Nursing, and has given seminars to the local School nurses. Dr. Josh is very active in local charities, and now sits on the Board of the Child and Family Center of SCV.

In his personal time, Dr. Josh likes to spend time with his wife Nikki and their two children, Madeline and Max; he lives locally and is an avid cyclist.

Michael Corben O.D.

After graduating from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1969, Michael Allen Corben, B.S., O.D., entered into a private practice in Downtown Newhall where he became the second eye doctor in the entire Santa Clarita Valley.

Over the years, Michael Corben has worked to continuously improve the scope of his practice with a philosophy to diligently develop his education and utilize the latest eye care instrumentation to better serve the health of his patients.

Michael Corbens’ current office has grown and developed for 26 years and is now located in the Santa Clarita Medical Center.

Dr. Corben is Glaucoma Certified, a member of California Optometric Association, and a charter member of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association. He is also an active member of local charities and organizations such as The Chamber of Commerce and The Lions Club, where he has provided over 4000 pro bono eye examinations for students in our valley.  He is a continuous donor for the Boys and Girls Club as well as other notable charities.

Aside from providing quality eye care, some of Dr. Corbens’ interests include photography, art, live performances, travel and of course, his six grandchildren.

Dr. Sheila Tehrani

Dr. Sheila Tehrani attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, and graduated in 2010. She completed rotations at various hospitals, where she trained in contact lens fittings, pediatrics, low vision, vision therapy, and treatment of eye disease. She is also certified for the treatment and management of Glaucoma.

Dr. Tehrani moved to Los Angeles in which she joined Corben Optometry in 2011. Dr. Tehrani provides comprehensive eye care examinations, fitting of contact lenses, treatment and management of ocular diseases, as well as pre and postoperative care for cataracts, LASIK. She is extremely excited to continue her clinical growth and build lasting relationships with her patients while providing the highest level of care. Dr. Tehrani also speaks fluent Farsi and proficient Spanish. She loves spending time with her husband and baby girl.

Dr. Garineh Nersisyan

Dr. Nersisyan is a 2010 graduate of Southern California College of Optometry. She received her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Physics from California State University, Northridge in 2006. Her optometric experience includes externships at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona and Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in West Los Angeles. Understanding the importance and role of ethics in optometry, she was the recipient of the Ethics Endowed Scholarship in 2008. Currently Dr. Nersisyan practices full-scope optometry.

In addition to primary care, pediatrics, and contact lenses, she is glaucoma certified and licensed to treat ocular diseases. Dr. Nersisyan is a current member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.

She is active in community service and has volunteered as an optometrist for the Special Olympics and participated in several vision screenings. In addition to English, she speaks fluent Armenian. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and enjoys the outdoors with her husband, daughter, and two Great Pyrenees.
